Family & Personal Life
  • Born & raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland in a section called Emory Grove

  • 1 Awesome Older Brother (Buster) who served faithfully in Afghanistan & 3 beautiful younger sisters who are unique, successful & faithful (Lisa, Sandy & Nicole). Oh yeah.. I have a classy, elegant, brilliant, resourceful mom who made sure that even though we didn’t have a lot growing up, we never went to bed hungry! She loves the Lord and let the record declare, she makes the best potato salad in the world. You better recognize. All of my siblings (minus Lisa) and my mom are married to fantastic people who make them look real good. Love you Leslie, Tony, Calvin and of course MY POP, Frank)

  • Married to the finest, sexiest (whoops.. better save that for another time). I am blessed to have found and married my good thing (Proverbs 18:22) Lisa in 1992. We actually met on the campus of Morgan State in January 1989 as we had a class together, but we really met one another at a party on February 10, 1984 in Harper Hall at Morgan State.  God sure has a way of blessing the unfortunate! Thank you Jesus… She makes me better in so many ways and I rejoice that after almost 28 years of marriage, I love her more today than I did yesterday.

  • Morgan Kerri Postell & Keturah Faith Postell are my pride and joy. I could not ask for better children who not only love the Lord, but love life. Morgan graduated in May 2016 from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte as an outstanding Business major with a concentration in Talent Management and is currently back in Maryland working fulltime at Verizon Wireless supporting Federal/Government Accounts. Keturah is completing her Senior year as she matriculates at the North Carolina State University in Raleigh Durham, where she is a Polymer and Color Chemistry Medical Sciences Major as she continues her pursuit of being a Research Engineer.

Experience & Education
  • After years of living like a heathen (yes I have a past, but I also have a testimony), I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ in May, 1992. You know you can be saved and still not sanctified, right? Well, I re-dedicated my life to the Lord in 1996 at the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown and I’ve been running for the Lord every since

  • Blessed to serve under an anointed man of God in Pastor Kenneth Barney Senior for 13 years and for 10 of those years I was on his ministerial staff where I was not only ordained into the gospel ministry, but afforded the opportunity to preach, teach, counsel etc as I waited for my next assignment from the Lord. During that tenure, I was deeply involved in all outreach ministry especially Prisons, Nursing Homes & Helping Up Missions as I learned there are MORE than enough preachers inside the 4 walls of a church, but never enough to go and share the gospel to those who can’t get to ‘the church’.

  • Privileged that in February 2009, the people of the historical First Baptist Church of Elkridge elected me to be their Pastor after the 49 tenure of their previous Pastor, Bishop Monroe Simms. We started off with meager beginning with approximately 20 active members on a roll of approximately 45, but God was faithful and through His power (and I mean His power alone), we were able to grow the ministry to in excess of 260 during my tenure which ended in November 2013. During our time at First Baptist, we were able to increase the operating budget by almost 200% to $260K, introduce numerous new ministries focused on spiritual growth, renovate the edifice with necessary cosmetic changes and a new AV ministry, and even add a needed 2nd Worship Service. All the aforementioned items are good to mention for one's ego, but the most important aspect of our tenure was the ability to lead hundreds to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the preached Word. I am eternally grateful to the people of First Baptist for allowing me to be their Pastor for almost 5 years.

  • Where there is no vision, the people shall perish. (Proverbs 29:19) God has given me and my wife the vision for Greater Destiny Christian Ministries and we are excited about the journey that lies ahead. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

  • Oh yeah, education??? Pray for me as I do have a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and English, but I am SO close to having my Masters in New Testament Studies and Pastoral Care. I even finished all my Greek requirements and Lord willing, I will find the time to take these last 2-3 classes and have a degree so people can REALLY think I’m smart. I hope you sense the sarcasm because I walk in the spirit that Paul preached when he said,“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty…that no man should glory in His presence”. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)
