The Encouraging Ministries are focused on partnering with the Pastor and the Leadership Team to provide support and care for those who are in need. In addition, this ministry ensures that the Pastor & his family are is equipped to do the work of the ministry. The Encouraging Ministries includes:
- Comfort & Visitation
- Pastoral Care
The Prayer Ministry charter is to 'stand in the gap' on behalf of the Greater Destiny Ministry as prayer intercessors who petition God for the needs of the ministry. They are responsible for keeping prayer at the forefront of the church's commitment to "seek God's face" in all that we do in various forums including prayer meetings, corporate fasts, & other vehicles for prayer communication such as conference calls, voice mails and text message. This ministry covers the Pastor and his family in prayer on a daily basis.
The Bereavement (Grief) Ministry is designed to partner with the Pastor, Diaconate and Comfort Visitation Ministry to provide assistance, encouragement, visitation and agape love to members and their families during times of death/mourning. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God". 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Comfort & Visitation Ministry
The Comfort & Visitation Ministry charter is centered around being the spiritual lifeline to those Partners of GDCM and their family members who are in nursing homes, hospitals or on their bed of affliction at home due to illness or disability challenges. This Ministry will not only do visitations, but will make contact calls, send emails and use any other communication vehicle available to provide comfort to these Partners during their time of need.
The goal of the Health and Wellness Ministry is to provide a safe and 'encouraging' environment where both the physical and spiritual bodies are developed through exercise regiments, workshop/seminars and ongoing communication about the need to take care of our physical temples. This ministry also staffed with licensed/registered nurses who provide on the spot health support during Worship Services.
Pastoral Care (Aid) Ministry
The Pastors Care/Aid Ministry mission is to be readily available to assist the Pastor (and his family) with whatever he needs in order for him to successfully lead the congregation as God has commanded him to do so. These responsibilities include office/pulpit preparation, lead point of contact on Pastor celebratory days such as Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc and more importantly, intecessory prayer for Pastor and family.
